Patient Care and Safety Management Protocol

PCP for Life is committed to the health of our patients, our employees and the communities we serve. We are in process to modify our entire triage and care approach so that we minimize risk during appointments. Our top priority is to provide safe, high-quality care for our patients, and safety for their family and community.
To better assist our patients during this time, we have put certain protocols in place for all patients.
Staff Safety Measures
Waiting Area Management
Our goal is to avoid having any patients in the waiting area. To accomplish this:
- We contact all patients prior to their appointment (typically 30 minutes to 2 hours before)
- We confirm estimated arrival time and register patients as checked in at their expected arrival
- Patients may be advised to arrive sooner or later to minimize wait time
- Patients remain in their cars and receive a cell phone call when it's time to come in
- Walk-in patients are asked to wait in their cars after registration with an approximate wait time
Respiratory Symptom Protocol
Appointment Scheduling for Symptomatic Patients
To manage risk, patients with symptoms similar to COVID-19 (mild to severe respiratory illness, fever, cough, shortness of breath) should call to make appointments at 281-370-7272.
During intake, our team will ask the following questions:
- Your symptoms
- Recent travel history
- Possible exposure source
- Whether anyone in your household is under 5 or over 65 years old
- Whether anyone has chronic medical conditions or a compromised immune system
Non-Symptomatic Patients
